I am a Journeyman Beekeeper that loves to share my experiences, knowledge and my passion about Beekeeping, the importance of pollinators, and the benefits of a toxin-free lifestyle. I love to demonstrate how Honey Bees play a vital role in our ecosystem and sustains our agriculture world while producing healthier food options such as Honey and Honey Comb. In addition to Honey and Comb Honey can be used for pure skin care products and balanced wellness immune system support.
I first started the craft of Beekeeping in PNW region 2015. I didn’t understand the impact keeping Honey Bees would have on my life but here I am in love with the Beekeeping and all things Honey Bee.
My Beekeeping journey has evolved in learning a deeper understanding of the nutritional and healing properties of Honey and Honey Bee's essential part of our world in agriculture. The Honey Bee is an amazing creature and despite our careless ignorance they seem to hang on to their existence and duties. I look forward to inspiring & encouraging beginning & future Beekeepers, and continue to learn from Master Beekeepers.
Looking Back.........
My first year started out with a single Bee colony. I experienced all the initial mishaps of managing Honey Bees. My family thought for sure this would be my only experiment in life. They would say “did you have enough yet?”
It was time to harvest and I was able to glean 2.5 gallons of honey. Everyone got honey: family, friends, relatives. But taking all of that honey devastated my hive not having enough winter honey stores. I was responsible for their demise and swore I would get it right the next time.
So, I “didn’t get enough” and wanted to know more. I read books, attended Beekeeping meetings, took classes, worked with a mentor, attended seminars. Collecting Honey is now just a feature. The real excitement is working with the Honey Bees, watching and responding to their behavior, becoming that avid person in protecting their environment, sharing my experiences with neighbors, friends and family. And yes, battling wasps and hornets; I have developed no fear of these pests.
If ever you get the opportunity to have a Honey Bee land on your arm and look into her eyes as she studies your face, yes, you too will be taken by her wisdom.
Beekeeping is now an essential part of my life. Follow me on my FB page, Honey Goods LLC, where you can find interesting articles, updates and blogs on beekeeping activities & strategies.
